Dear Ms. Huizar-Humes:
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Pikes Peak Community Foundation, I am pleased to inform you have been awarded a challenge grant of up to $60,000.00 from the Alamo Avenue Fund to stimulate increased contributions to CAC. Please be aware that this challenge is designed to help you identify new donors and also encourage existing donors to increase their gifts. This challenge includes gifts from individuals as well as corporate/business donors.
Under the terms of such a challenge, we would provide $2 in challenge funds for every $1 raised from September 1, 2006 – March 1, 2007. This means if your organization raises $30,000.00,the Alamo Avenue Fund will award the Children’s Advocacy Center a grant of $60,000.00.
For the challenge grant, please provide us with records indicating specific amounts with donor name(s) and gifts dates. Under the terms of this challenge grant, gifts-in-kind, services, equipment, or supplies, etc. will not count towards this challenge. Also, any pledges will need to be collected in full by March 1, 2007 at midnight to count toward the challenge grant. The funds will be distributed in two payments. Once you have raised $15,000.00 you may submit a request for the $30,000.00. Once the final $15,000.00 is raised, you may submit a request for the final disbursement of $30,000.00.
